The Italy international has found himself down the pecking order in recent seasons and reports have suggested that he could be on his way out of Old Trafford this summer.

Now, according to Gianluca di Marzio, Inter boss Antonio Conte is keen on bringing Darmian to the San Siro if either Miranda or Dalbert leave the club.

After hearing the news the 29-year-old could be making his exit, United fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the matter, and many were pleasantly surprised that a club were willing to take him off their hands.

Red Devils supporters appeared to thank Conte for wanting to take some of their “deadwood” away, with the news of interest in Darmian following Inter’s reported willingness to sign fellow United star Romelu Lukaku.

A few however remained cautious that the versatile full-back could finally leave and instead resigned themselves to seeing him back in United colours after the end of the transfer window.
