da imperador bet: Aston Villa are well-placed to make this season a particularly memorable one.
da aposte e ganhe: Unai Emery’s side have to be one of the favourites to qualify for the Champions League through the Premier League and are sitting third in the Europa League.
Moreover, they made short work of Tottenham Hotspur to book their place in the Fourth Round of the FA Cup.
However, to ensure they can end the campaign with something to show for it, Aston Villa need to strengthen their side, which, based on reports, it looks like they are trying to do with a Marcus Rashford-like signing.
Aston Villa close in on new signing
Around this time last season, Villa brought in Rashford on a short-term loan from Manchester United. At the time, some fans and pundits were unsure how the Englishman would perform away from his boyhood club.
Fortunately, he did reasonably well in the second city, scoring four goals and providing six assists in 17 matches before a hamstring injury ended his campaign.
So, with how well the 28-year-old fared, it’s no surprise that the club are keen to bring in another Rashford-esque signing this month.
At least that is according to a recent report from journalist Ben Jacobs, who claims that Aston Villa are still very interested in Tammy Abraham.
In fact, Jacobs has gone a step further, revealing that the centre forward has “agreed to a move to Aston Villa” and that the parties are “now working on terminating Abraham’s Bestikas loan.”
Jacobs does not state how much the Englishman could cost, but does claim that there is real “optimism a deal can be done.”
It’s certainly an exciting prospect, and a transfer that should remind Aston Villa fans of Rashford’s last year.
Why Abraham would be another Rashford
While they obviously have their differences, there are some undeniable similarities between Abraham and Rashford, including the nature of their moves.
After all, if Villa were to sign the former, then, like the latter, he would be coming into the side midway through the season to give them an attacking boost.
Moreover, it is a move few would have predicted before the window opened.
Now, the first similarity between them as players is that both have experience playing in the Premier League and for a ‘big six’ side.
For example, before his move to Villa Park, Rashford had made 426 appearances for Manchester United, in which he scored 138 goals and provided 78 assists.
Likewise, the man of the moment made 82 appearances for Chelsea, in which he scored 30 goals and provided 12 assists.

For example, he produced 50 goal involvements in 120 games for Roma, 17 in 44 games for AC Milan, and 16 in 26 games for Besiktas, all experiences that help justify journalist Bolarinwa Olajide’s description of him as a “beast” in front of goal.
Finally, both attackers have played for England.
The former Blues gem has amassed 11 senior caps, which could increase if this move works out, and the Barcelona loanee has won 68 and counting.
Ultimately, he might not be the biggest name, but Abraham could have a Rashford-like impact on Villa this season, and therefore, the club should do all they can to sign him.
Better than Gallagher: Aston Villa open talks to sign "midfield maestro"
The promising midfield monster could end up being a far better signing than Conor Gallagher would have been for Aston Villa.
